Pony Pals- ages 5 to 7 years old
This program is designed for younger beginnersí ages 5 to 7 years old. It serves as an introduction to general horsemanship. Horse Logic LLC emphasizes safety and fun around horses in a family friendly environment.

Pony Pals teach:

  • Leading the horse
  • Grooming
  • Tacking (putting the saddle and equipment on the horse)
  • Untacking (taking the saddle and equipment off of the horse)
  • Riding at the walk (with and without the saddle)
  • Riding at the trot (with and without the saddle)
  • Basic Horse Anatomy
  • Horse Safety

Some portions of the Pony Pals lessons will not include riding, but are intended to improve the studentís horsemanship skills. Pony Pals is the best program for young children to decide if they are interested in pursuing riding. Plus this is a perfect way to find out if your child or grandchild is going to be interested in horses before having to purchase any gear and/or commit to serious lessons. Pony Pals lessons are 30 minutes in length.

Lessons ages 8 to 108
This program is designed for the beginner through advanced rider ages 8 to 108. These lessons are to further riderís horsemanship education. Horse Logic LLC specializes in assisting riders from beginner through advanced as well as all ages to achieve set goals. Horse Logic will further these goals in a safe and family friendly environment. Each rider will be taught at their existing level and continue to progress in their riding journey. Riders are also taught theory and the why behind doing things a certain way. Below is a partial list of what the lessons teach. Lessons are not limited to what is on the list. Lessons are 1 hour and are private. Semi-private (2 riders) lessons may be available, please contact Horse Logic LLC for more information.

Lessons teach:

  • Leading the horse
  • Grooming
  • Tacking (putting the saddle and equipment on the horse)
  • Untacking (taking the saddle and equipment off of the horse)
  • Riding at the walk (with and without the saddle)
  • Riding at the trot (with and without the saddle)
  • Riding at the canter (with and without stirrups)
  • More focus on specific discipline with advanced techniques and patterns
  • Starting pole work and *jumping *(if hunt seat is chosen discipline)*
  • More advanced horse care; basic first aid, bathing, clipping, preparing for shows, etc.
  • Groundwork
  • Riding is both inside as well as outside, depending on the weather

Lessons are available during the day, as well as afternoons, evenings, and Saturdays. We also welcome homeschoolers for during the day lessons. Please contact Horse Logic LLC for lesson time and availability.
Horseback riding is a wonderful physical activity that builds self-confidence, communication, respect, as well as being a physical activity.

Lesson Policies
Appropriate Riding Attire for Horse Logic LLC

  1. Paddock boots with half chaps or paddock boots are recommended for English riding.
  2. Western riders need to have a pair of western boots, or paddock boots for riding. NO TENNIS SHOES OR HIKING BOOTS!
  3. ASTM/SEI approved safety riding helmet with chinstrap secured while mounted on the horse is required. *No bicycle helmets*. Secure your hair with a hairband if needed.
  4. No bulky or skimpy tops. Well fitted breeches or jeans and shirts (tucked in if needed) are required. It is very difficult for the trainer to critique your equitation with loose fitting un-tucked, t-shirts or tops, blowing around.
  5. No loose fitting jewelry or dangling earrings.
  6. Take the time to look neat and professional at all times.
  7. Gloves are suggested
  8. NO GUM or Candy while riding.
